“The ship docked today at 06.00 WITA,” he said in a statement in Mataram, Friday.
Wibisono said the docking process of the ship owned by Royal Caribbean Cruise Line went smoothly.
Pelindo prepared a disembarkation and embarkation route for passengers, as well as a modern mobile gangway to facilitate passenger access to and from the ship.
The Gilimas Terminal has a 440-meter pier and has a two-story building with a total first floor area of 12,300 square meters and a second floor of 2,000 square meters.
The area also gets support with adequate public areas to anticipate large numbers of passengers.
“It is an honor for us to be able to serve Quantum of the Seas, the largest ship that has ever stopped in Indonesia,” he said again.
Head of the Class III Lembar Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP) Syamsurizal appreciated Pelindo for its success in serving the cruise ship’s docking process.
He hopes that visits by various similar cruise ships can be carried out routinely at Lembar Port, especially the Gilimas Terminal.
“As a port business entity, Pelindo has carried out its duties to provide port services both domestically and internationally. We hope this can be improved so that it can improve the local economy,” said Syamsurizal.
The Quantum of the Seas ship has an overall length of 347 meters, carrying around 4,000 passengers and 1,000 crew members.
The ship began its voyage from Singapore on November 19, 2024; then docked in NTB, Indonesia on November 22, 2024; then docked in Darwin, Northern Australia on 25 November 2024.
After Darwin, the ship will continue its voyage and is scheduled to arrive in Yorkeys Knob, Queensland, Australia on 28 November 2024; then docked in Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia on 29 November 2024; and end the voyage in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on 1 December 2024.
